ZuluTrade – Follow other Trader’s Winning Strategies

March 8, 2011

This is not the same as simply following a signal provider’s results:  this allows you to look into the accounts (on a limited basis) of other traders like you or me, and gives us a chance to follow the same signal providers they do!

This is a feature I knew existed because it was shared to me once upon a time in Facebook.   A user, like you and I, of Zulutrade shared with me a page where I could see every signal provider he was following.  This was about a year ago and I could not find how to recreate this since, because it seemed as if he had the best approach, adding dozens of signal providers with modest results into his basket of signal providers greatly diversifying the style of his trading; his capital spread out to many more individuals’ advice rather than one or two.

As you can see this Zulutrade user is following close to ten signal providers even warning us that there might be higher riskses involved with one over the others.  To me I have been waiting for Zulu to officially make this feature known to other users, it only makes sense that we try every way possible to find the best signal providers on Zulu trade that provide the most steady returns; enough following signal providers that wipe out accounts, now we can follow traders like you or I that are successfully navigating how to earn a profit on Zulu Trade and as you can see in the example below this particular user is up almost 1000 pips by following this many signal providers.  Please keep in mind a trader/user of Zulutrade has the option to set many things that can make the results of  a signal provider differ from the results of the original trade.

ZuluSignal Provider – Fly On The Wall

March 7, 2011

I first saw this provider by seeing their win percentage compared to time in operation, 42 weeks, 100% winning trades, max drawdown around 350 pips.

Forex Signals

To me 350 pips is quite a bit, but in ZuluTrade.com terms, this is a drop in the bucket, but regardless, looking into this signal provider’s details it’s quite remarkable that his trades always go his way without us having to endure a huge draw down.

Forex Signals

Fly on the wall strictly trades GBPJPY, a pair known for huge swings, large daily average ranges, but also whipsaw action that clears stops very easily for those that do not know what they are doing.  In fact, putting a stop loss on this signal provider would make his win ratio go way down (for you), but literally leaving it alone, following him as is, over the last few months will have you gaining quite a bit.

Forex Signals

Fly on the wall’s equity curve seems to always outdo his drawdown except for this one trade lately which had a larger drawdown than his open positions, but as you can see he recovered twice the amount in the same trade, or series of trades over the next few days ending the month way up.

Other things I like about Fly on the Wall is, he doesn’t enter a dozens of the same trade at once to inflate his pips earned, its very straightforward and he seems to be an honest signal provider compared to others discussed.

Forex Signals

Another thing I like about him is the hundreds of comments from live followers, a huge percentage lauding his efforts, some mad at the drawdown as I suspected but they can not complain unless they closed the order on their own because his trades are literally 100% at the moment, all winning trades max drawdown near 300, not 3000, or 30,000 like some signal providers that just don’t care.  Fly on The wall, seems at least, to care about his clients and in turn is making a lot himself, 6000 followers must be earning him a bank roll, but let’s not hate on him for that whatsoever, he did it honestly through a sound approac for trading forex; what more can you ask for from a signal provider, since you yourself aren’t paying him directly, even though your spread may be higher on Zulu, Fly on the wall, at this time, is sending out 100% winning trades.

Forex Signals

I am not at all reticent on the idea that nothing great lasts forever, this signal provider could lose you a fortune tomorrow, I am basing these assumptions on prior facts, past performance is obviously not indicative of future outcomes! Also be aware there are many “FLY ON THE WALL” imitators, the real Fly on the Wall on Zulu Trade can be found here.

I wish Fly on the Wall and his strategy the best of luck and his followers prosperity!

ZuluTrade: Top Signal Provider – BRSTFOREX

March 6, 2011

BRSTFOREX is another signal provider that I must give thumbs down to based on the real results and other user comments.  Before you think it’s a great investment based on the equity curve, I put to you this is yet another Signal provider batting for the fences with other peoples money in the sense that a real signal provider (that cares about his clients) is ill concerned about making 30,000 pips a year rather a reasonable rate of return.

Forex Signal Provider Forestal

February 21, 2011

Forestal seems to be another signal provider with tens of thousands of positive pips but not a single person commenting on how much pips they gained, in fact a few traders mention margin calls, which is very disconcerting about a signal provider on the front page of Zulutrade.com — I must stress you must be aware of the potential risks involved in depositing $100 and thinking you can trade full lots or even mini lots with any signal provider and not be margin called, however, looking more deeply into the stats we see another signal provider which is most likely more concerned with win percentage than approaching forex with a sound method that incurs small losses but enormous wins which may even be occasional in comparison to the amount of loses: who cares so long as the signal provider is profitable consistently and not all over the place, so to speak.

Just a snippet of comments about this signal provider (more here):

How many signal provider accounts can one man have?

In conclusion I would definitely be careful if trying to follow this signal provider, always employ stop losses for each signal provider, do not take 1000 pip draw downs with them just so your win percentage can look good too, what matters most is that your capital grows despite win percentage.

Other Peoples’ Money: Most ZuluTrade Signal Providers Don’t Get It.

January 15, 2011

I really mean this from the depths of my intelligence and from the bottom of my heart (a double whammy), that many ZuluTrade signal providers are just so unconcerned with our bottom line next to looking really good to us so that we may try them.  Knowing just a tad about business ethics from university, I know that when you trade with other peoples’ money that you owe them quite a bit of transparency and quite a bit of respect.  Is that evident in Zulutrade as a signal provider opens 15 of the same trade just to make 15 times the commission he would have done if he were a responsible money manager?

Not to say there aren’t fraudsters everywhere even in legitimate businesses, but it goes to the heart of the matter: avoid signal providers that open the same trade over and over A) to inflate their pips earned in their reporting and B) not make $0.40 off your trade rather $4.00 – times 1000 followers, these signal providers are making more than you and me combined on each trade and we usually have to win to earn, signal providers win whether we win/lose/draw!  I am not complaining at all about the service however, ZuluTrade is a very unique and useful tool in the hands of professionals, but quite literally anyone can become a signal provider on there and the smart ones know how to work the system, clearly but to who’s benefit if they just keep sticking around losing fortunes for real traders like you and me?

Look at this guy’s results, is he a trader or out to make money off of us?  You decide.
But I can share with you some of the comments despite this monstrous equity curve at +30,000 pips!

ZuluTrade - Signal Provider Performance

Who is to blame though: ZuluTrade for creating the competitive atmosphere or the Signal Providers finding the need to compete so much that they enter trades they would never have, they open more positions than most any mortal trader’s account could handle at once, and the worst of all, they hold on to trades for days, months, weeks, LOSING TRADES in the hopes they’ll one day go their way, why?  So that their win percentage is not tarnished.  So I think it is most definitely a mixture of both: Signal Provider’s ignorance toward OPM and Zulu trade creating this atmosphere: the “TOP” signal providers in their opinion being the ones that are the most reckless and most profitable; usually the most reckless who are not profitable are showcased and avoided, but not ones that make an inexplicable amount of pips in a week entering hundreds of trades.

In the end, I love ZuluTrade, use it every day, I just wish they would effect some changes over there in their top signal provider list to let signal providers that don’t fit their standard of being “the best” is or is not, or better yet let us decide some how.  My idea of a perfect signal provider is not one that I can make a fortune with, rather 5 or 6 that have sound strategies, with tight stop losses, not necessarily a great win percentage but much more pips gained than risked in any moment.

It’s really not about quantity (at least in this sense) it’s about quality and consistency, consistency in quality!  In that lies ZuluTrade’s saving quality that makes me use it regularly is the fact that they are a third party monitoring service of signal providers that make it incredibly easy for we traders to see what is going on with the people charged with OPM, our money specifically.  This is why I devote myself to finding the best group of signal providers that do not reach for the stars or care about looking good, they care about your, mine, their returns first!
